In 2010, Sydney will focus AMUNC on the theme 'We the Peoples'. The first three words of the preamble will imbue AMUNC with principles of dignity, justice, progress and tolerance; and shape a conference that empowers, challenges and exhilarates.
Show your enthusiasm for being part of a fantastic conference by joining our Facebook group!
If you'd like to get in touch, you can email us. The full website at AMUNC.net will be updated to contain information 2010 over time.
Our experience
Convening conferences like SydMUN and Sydney Schools' Model UN has equipped us to deal with the challenges, tension and adversity that is part of hosting any conference. But more importantly it has also instilled in us a thrill for creating an event that entertains and inspires delegates.
These experiences, alongside our long involvement with AMUNC, means that we believe that Sydney is in a fortunately unique position to create an AMUNC that is broader in reach, deeper in its content, and more secure in its future, than ever before.

Our plans
We are delighted to share just some of the exciting features that will be part of Sydney's AMUNC, including:
- New committees: including the International Criminal Court, Versailles Peace Conference, ASEAN Regional Forum, UNICEF, and a Human Rights Council Universal Periodic Review.
- A fresh approach to training delegates: including tiered rules to make it easier to comprehend key AMUNC concepts, and optional online training modules.
- A revised conference program: including an enhanced Sunday with our 'Diplomatic Discussions' program and the Opening Ceremony.
- Outreach both at home and overseas: at AMUNC 2010, Sydney would create Model UN Outreach and International Liaison Officers to provide specific assistance to smaller and overseas delegations to attend AMUNC and build a culture of Model UN in the region.
- The Ethical Action Program: a more comprehensive and integrated ethical action program to truly unleash the spirit of AMUNC.
- Future proofing (yes, we watch The Hollowmen): building an institutional memory for AMUNC, including guiding documents and support to make hosting and attending AMUNC more accessible for all universities, regardless of size.
- Fantastic socials: an array of exciting social events showcasing Sydney Harbour, Darling Harbour, George Street, and Newtown.
- Access Cards: all attending delegates at an AMUNC 2010 would be granted a temporary Access Card from the University of Sydney Union, providing a range of discounts both at the University of Sydney and in the city of Sydney on things like food, supplies, entertainment and attractions.
