UNICEF Interest Group

About Us

The UNICEF Interest Group currently operates as part of the Sydney University UN Society. In 2010 the group is headed by the Sydney University UNICEF ULO, Alice So. Our main focus will be raising awareness about UNICEF issues through on-campus events with the UN Society and other humanitarian based groups, including Humanitarian Week 2009 in semester two.

This year hopes to include Model UN, film screenings, on-campus campaigns, BBQs and Halloween inspired events.

The United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF)

UNICEF is the driving force that helps build a world where the rights of every child are realized. Founded in 1946, the organisation works with others to overcome the obstacles that poverty, violence, disease and discrimination place in a child’s path, and in doing so advance the cause of humanity.

UNICEF Australia's ULO program

The UNICEF University Liaison Officer (ULO) program is an initiative of UNICEF Australia. It aims to promote awareness of, and support for, UNICEF's work globally. The ULO program enables tertiary students to learn more about the rights of women and children throughout the world, and to make a difference in their community.

UNICEF relies on the goodwill of individuals in order to help the world's children. If you would like to make a donation or become a Global Parent, click here.
